Overview: “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” is the classic short story by British writer Rudyard Kiping, (who a lso wrote “The Jungle Book.” ) This story was first published in 1884. Set in India during the time that it was ruled by Britain, this story features a mongoose who saves a human family from attacks by a deadly cobra.
