This interjections worksheet is a fun and engaging way to teach one of the most exciting parts of speech.
Designed for grades 4–8, this activity uses humor and storytelling to help students identify and use interjections with confidence.
Interjections are known as the "forgotten" part of speech, but - gee whiz! - they are the most exciting! And they are super-easy too, requiring only one lesson.
This is a fun and funny lesson on interjections. It has 31 sentences that tell an exciting and adventurous story about a class of kids trying to get home. Each sentence has a different interjection. All of the interjections are "clean"! Students underline the interjection in each sentence, and then they get 10 minutes to work with a partner to finish the funny story, using at least two interjections.
Do you or your students think you can't think of interesting interjections? Crikey! You're wrong! With interjections like "Hot diggety dog", "Wowie Zowie" and "Cowabunga", you will never be lost for a colorful interjection again.
One fun way to do this lesson is to substitute your students' names for the names that are in these 31 sentences. Then call on the same student to read the sentence and give the interjection. This is a fun way to learn a part of speech.
